A Decision is open for a set window. Cast For, Against, or Abstain. The Decision passes if it clears quorum and the approval threshold your Group set.
How to vote
- Open the Decisions tab in your Group.
- Find one marked open for voting.
- Read the full Decision.
- Choose For, Against, or Abstain.
- Submit.
What the options mean
- For.

- Against.
Opposes it.
- Abstain.
Counts toward quorum but doesn't take a side. Useful when you want to mark participation without committing either way.
How a Decision is decided
- Quorum.
The minimum number of participants for the result to count — usually expressed as a percentage of eligible members. Learn more(Investopedia)
- Approval threshold.
The share of For votes needed to pass — for example, simple majority (50%) or supermajority (66%). Set per Group.
- Voting period.
The time window each Decision stays open for voting. When the window closes, the result is final.
Your Group's settings drive all three. See Group Settings to review or change them.
Discussion
Every Decision has a threaded discussion. Use it to ask questions, surface concerns, or share context before voting. Comments are part of the Decision's permanent record alongside the vote tally.
Voting best practices
- Read the full Decision before voting.
- Use the discussion to surface questions or share context others might be missing.
- Vote early when you can — it helps the Decision reach quorum sooner.
