About EnDAO
Features & Capabilities
EnDAO provides pooled funds, group voting, and shared records in one place. This page describes what ships today. Anything not listed here isn't something the platform does.
Decision-making
- Decision types.
General and Funding decisions. General decisions cover anything that doesn't move funds — policy changes, scheduling, governance tweaks. Funding decisions carry a recipient and amount and unlock the treasury signing flow when they pass.
- Voting.
Simple yes / no / abstain on every decision. Members can change their vote any time before voting closes, if the decision allows.
- Discussions.
Open a Discussion to talk through something before it's ready to vote on. Members reply with comments and reactions. When the Group is ready, a Discussion can be promoted into a Decision with its context attached.
- Configurable thresholds.
Set quorum and approval percentages per Group. The rules apply consistently to every Decision. See How to Vote for the member-side experience and Managing Decisions for the admin-side configuration.
- Approval delay.
An optional hold window between a Decision passing and it becoming executable. When turned on, passed Decisions show the unlock date on their detail page and the Execute button stays disabled until the window expires. Groups configure the delay length in Group settings — default is off so existing behavior is unchanged. Useful for large funding decisions or governance changes where members may want a window to raise concerns before action is taken.
Shared treasury
- Multiple Approvers.
Configurable approval threshold (for example, 2-of-3 or 3-of-5). No single person can move funds alone. Spending waits until the required Approvers sign off.
- Transaction history.
Every send, receive, and approval recorded on an append-only ledger with timestamps and attribution. Members see balances and activity in real time, not on a quarterly cadence.
- Emergency freeze.
Admins can pause all treasury transactions if something looks wrong. Freezes are themselves recorded on the audit trail with the admin and the reason attached.
See Treasury Setup, Sending Transactions, and Security Best Practices for operational guides.
Members & roles
- Roles.
Three primary roles — Admin (can manage settings and approve treasury), Member (full participation in decisions), and Observer (read-only access). Some Groups also use a Protector label for fiduciary oversight.
- Individual permissions.
Beyond the role, admins can grant individual members specific permissions — for example, the ability to send invitations or moderate discussions. Grants are on the record and revocable. Open each member's profile to view and manage their permissions.
- Invitations.
Invite people by email. Each invitation generates a link with a record of who sent it, who accepted it, and when.
- Open or invite-only.
Set whether anyone can join your Group or whether new members need an Admin's approval.
- Member directory.
Search and view every participant with their role and join date. See Managing Members for the admin guide.
Templates
When you create a Group, you can pick from a set of starting templates — each one preconfigured for a different kind of organization with sensible defaults for governance rules, member roles, and treasury setup. You can adjust anything after the template is applied. See EnDAO Solutions for the full set of templates currently supported.
Activity & audit
- Activity timeline.
Each Group has an activity feed showing what's happened recently — votes cast, threads opened, treasury movements, member joins. Visible to all Group members.
- Audit log.
Admin-only compliance surface. Captures every system action with severity tagging, so admins can review role grants, freezes, exports, access denials, and other security-relevant events.
- Reports & exports.
Export the admin audit log as a CSV. Additional report types — members, decisions, treasury ledger — are coming.
Notifications
- In-app.
Notification bell at the top of every page with routing to the relevant decision, thread, or treasury action. Notifications are categorized and have a read state per category.
- Email.
Email notifications for three categories: Decision updates (new Decision, passed, failed, ready to execute), treasury activity (signature requested, transfer complete), and voting reminders before an open Decision closes. Sent only when there is something relevant to you.
- Per-category preferences.
Turn each category on or off from your account settings. Decisions, treasury activity, voting reminders, membership events, and social activity are each individually controllable. Security and account alerts are always on.
Access
Sign in with your email, Google account, or external wallet. No passwords to remember — authentication uses one-time codes and secure tokens.
- Install as an app.
EnDAO is a progressive web app — installable as a regular app on your phone or laptop from your browser, with offline-aware caching. No app store required.
- Browser-based.
Works in any modern browser. No software install required to get started.
Your workspace
- Multiple Groups under one identity.
Belong to many Groups with a single account. Roles and participation are scoped to each Group independently.
- Workspace rail.
Switch between Groups from the left rail of the app. The Group you visited most recently is what you see when you sign in.
- Personal activity.
Your profile carries a cross-Group record of what you've voted on, posted, and approved — across every Group you belong to.
